Most shops buy media. We win political fights.
Most paid media firms in public affairs are staffed by media planners who learned some politics along the way. We’re the opposite — political strategists who have worked inside a governor’s office, on the Hill, in Administrations, and on the largest independent expenditures in the country. We know how political pressure actually works, and that’s what makes our campaigns more effective.

CAMPAIGN TYPES
DC Influence Campaigns
Your issue matters, but the people who decide it are a small universe — members of Congress, their staff, agency officials, and other Beltway influencers. We build paid media campaigns to saturate that audience across the channels they actually consume. Tactics often include things like sponsoring newsletters, podcasts, sponsored content, and more.
Advocacy & Mobilization Campaigns
You need people to take action — call their member of Congress, sign a petition, submit a public comment, show up. We run acquisition campaigns to build your supporter base and activation campaigns to drive measurable action. Paid media, landing page development, email campaigns, and the full digital infrastructure to move people from awareness to action.
Political Campaigns
Persuasion and mobilization for candidates, Super PACs, 501(c)(4)s, and ballot measures at every level — Presidential, Senate, House, gubernatorial, state legislative, municipal, and local ballot issues. Positive campaigns, contrast campaigns, and accountability campaigns. Some want press attention, some want to stay under the radar. We’ve done both, across more than 15 independent expenditure campaigns including the largest Democratic Super PAC of the 2020 cycle.
TRACK RECORD
Our founder has planned and executed over $200M in paid media campaigns. This experience is the foundation of every Absecon Group engagement.
Utility-scale Solar — Influencing Local Communities
Led paid media campaigns for nearly 3 GW worth of utility-scale solar projects. Campaigns included proactively engaging with the community to mitigate future opposition as well as reactively responding to entrenched opposition. Thousands of solar supporters have been identified across campaigns, local elected officials have positively commented on campaigns, and digital content has been produced featuring local supporters.
Oil Supermajor — Global Reputation Management
Served as consultant for an oil supermajor, running corporate reputation and advocacy campaigns to increase awareness of their investment in American energy, jobs, and infrastructure. Campaigns spanned across the globe, targeting policy influencers in D.C., state capitals, and foreign capitals along with key constituents of communities with license-to-operate goals.
Priorities USA — 2020 Presidential Cycle
Led a paid media team for the largest Democratic Super PAC during the 2020 election cycle. Ran one of the most sophisticated vote-by-mail operations of the cycle.
FDA Rulemaking — Advocacy & Grassroots Campaign
A Fortune 500 company needed to prevent the FDA from moving forward with a proposed rule. Created a third-party group, led website development, paid media acquisition campaign, organic media strategy, creative development, email, and the contact Congress campaign. Secured additional legislative co-sponsors. The FDA ultimately stepped back.
Multi-State Legislative Campaign
A Fortune 500 company needed to pass or stop legislation in key states across the US. Led paid media campaign in coordination with state lobbying teams, with each state requiring unique messaging.
15+ Independent Expenditure Campaigns
Led or supported paid media campaigns supporting or opposing candidates and ballot measures at every level — Presidential, Senate, House, gubernatorial, state legislative, municipal, and local ballot issues. Includes a statewide mobilization campaign producing content specific to 10 different cities and regions.
Secretary of State — Counter-Disinformation
A Secretary of State needed to reduce the effect of dis- and misinformation during their state’s primary. Planned and executed a paid media campaign alerting voters about reliable election information.
Additional Campaigns
- Digital campaigns that grew a solo immigration law practice into a multi-attorney firm
- Search campaign that drove enrollment growth for a community college union member program
